Hiya peepz..this is my 2nd blog..and i think i'll use this more often...the other one is for venting frustration, this one is for some personal insights..(though sooner or later will end up with frustration letting out too..lol)

I have viewed with keen interest the recent onsets of Singapore Idol and like what my good friend Mr Anmian has done, i shall offer my take (pls dun find em offensive..haha..i tend to be very critical..) on Singapore Idol finals..or Spectaculars ..whatever u call em..

Taufik Batisah

I wasn't impressed with him from day 1, i saw him on television. He is a fella with a possibly immense vocals but he isn't showing them off. From what i hear, he's probably capable of more powerful songs instead of doing Usher songs which he likes. Ok, its cool to sing the songs of your idols but i just think it doesn't suit him?

Sylvester

Ok i shall not comment too much on his rocker-wanna-be poses or behaviours since most of you fellas will think i am biased. Should this be a talent spotting contest, he would be the one who impresses but not win. He clearly showed it when he did the disco show as well as the Spectacular #4 show ..esp the Aerosmith song...i didn't know why the judges said it was good...it wasn't even 20 marks close or as good as the original version..no gusto, no emotions...just a pretty lack-lustre scream..well one good thing..he's beginning to smile more...and he should sing more hounddog songs..

Leandra

This petit lil lady here can sing! I think amongst em all, she's pretty under-rated...and terribly misheard by the judges. The biggest problem with her is that she's lost..and her confidence is shaken by the comments of the judges. Her time is running up i admit, because singapore ain't gonna appreciate real raw talent..they just go for looks and popularity..(aka..eh u support who then i support who lah ..or EH he/she IS COOL LEH =+= (massive duh))

Olinda Cho

Wow..can she sing..the first time i heard her sing Sway, i was almost blown away cos she did a real good rendition of it. She seems to be able to handle low jazzy bar-room kinda feeling songs real well and i haven't heard her belt higher pitched songs...which is good since i think she probably cannot handle em... here is one who knows her own limits, her strengths and using em to good effect! However, her subdued performance of When a Man loves a Woman disappointed me...massively...but again,...a woman singing a male song isn't easy...

David Yeo

Haha..he's been gone for some time now, but i think he is not a bad singer..well at least better than christopher...his weakness comes however when he tries to alternate between the high and low pitches..his voice quivers...shaky....in other words..no good!..His supposedly quirky nature dun seem to win him support from the audience though and i think hmm..its slightly exaggerated at times..haha..

Jerry Ong

AHA! The BOOGIE MAN...Upon hearing him over and over again, giving him chance and chance again, i still think he shoulda been out a long time ago. He's taken a lot of stick for being the supposed fella who knocked out powerhouse Jessea...but hey..what the heck.he ain't the one voting..i give my hats off to him, cos this guy is putting feelings in his songs..and puts on a bright smile throughout shows..those criticizing him..u suck!

Maia

Woo..guess all the guys will like her ...cos her performance is entertaining and her vocals are great! AND GUESS WHAT?! SHE GETS KNOCKED OUT! So what the heck, Singapore audience ain't got ears to listen! I think it is a massive pity, she did well for the #4 performance, much better than a couple of performers..she could have very well been the best representative to represent Singapore in World Idol..well..enuff said..

Jessea Thyidor

She's from canada...so no fans..no friends...kaput out she goes...She sings like a diva...she's got super-star potential....if simon was to see the results..he would have blasted us singaporeans 2 pages length of proliferations. She's darn good i must say, picks good songs to sing, good vocals...what more can u expect?

Christopher

WAHAHAHAHA..Whenever i see this guy, i always think of my friend! WHY?! Cos he like christopher, can't sing...just looks good! and hell pple say he sings like an angel...WOW..if he ends up winning SI...i'd surely stay tune to World Idol..see what Simon has to say...ENuff said..lets talk bout his singing (cos i dun see no dancing)..He definately can't sing high...judging from his bleh~~ disco performance (You make me feel like dancing~~~~wah kaoz..i think i'll never hear the song in the same way again) he can't sing powerful songs..(was it the performance in the piano song that got criticized heavily?)..so..WHAT CAN HE SING?!

THE JUDGES TIME...(ain't gonna escape some nice lil hot whips on the butt!)

DICK LEE

Most of the time, he talks crap. He's merely there for the sake of being there. As most singaporeans who know him..know, he is a stuck-up arrogant fella. I agree that his criticisms are over the edge sometimes, but that ain't the trouble. The TROUBLE IS..he says the AVERAGE SONGS are GOOD as well! wth?!?! Has he even heard the original versions?!?! Some of the performances wouldn't even make it in B-side cover releases..

Florence Lian

She ..i call the "Wife" of the Dick! Her Comments Are a thorough photo-stat of Dick. Lidat may as well not say. She's giving complements almost 80% of the time and not giving tips or useful comments to the performers. Who gives a damn if u wanna cut ur hair??? I thought paula abdul was already not good..but u have topped that female worst judge...

Douglas Olivero

I can't even be bothered to check how his name spells. To put it nicely, his words are LPPL, TKMTW (talk kok more than words). You can even see the contestants not bothered with him, the audience not bothered with him..all just wanna faster shut him up and get on to Mr Ken...This one SURE MUST REPLACE..sux to the core..i'd rather have a straightforward critical judge than have one that is neither here nor there..

Mr Ken Lim

This guy is a true blue judge. He gives insightful comments and tries to help the performers to improve. Many audiences and spectators see him in a bad light, because they think he is overly-critical because they think he can't hold his tongue. But aha, like i always say, if you wanna step into the entertainment circle, you gotta be prepared for some harsh criticism, some might very well sound insulting. If they aren't bothered with the contestants they could very well say something normal and end it off. Criticisms will only build a character, Insults will only test ones determination and drive. haha..just think when ur parents scold u sometimes..dun they sound insulting at times too?..its the same concept..

P.S HAVE U NOTICED #4 ALL GOT KICKED OUT? FIRST JERRY, THEN MAIA..WHO WILL BE THE NEXT #4?
